Attention pregnancy police: Kourtney Kardashian colored her hair! While some judgey people who still believe outdated info might ostracize her for supposedly putting the health of her unborn baby girl at risk, the reality star took to her blog to explain that coloring your hair while pregnant is actually perfectly safe.

“I decided to change up my hair to try something new,” Kourtney explained. “I haven’t touched my hair color in over 10 years and thought it was time for some fun. Don’t even ask… why now after 10 years… I’m just crazy.”

The Kardashians lied about diet pills? >>

“I did research about doing anything to the color of my hair while pregnant and followed all of the guidelines from my doctor and took the proper precautions necessary,” she explained, cutting off any undue criticism at the head. “I highlighted my hair (which is considered the safest form of hair color while pregnant) and NOT to the root, so nothing ever touched my scalp. I also used products that did not contain any ammonia. It is also recommended to be in a well-ventilated area as well as being at least in your second trimester, and I followed both of those rules. Anyone who knows anything about me knows that I take caution in all the products I use all the time, but especially when pregnant.”

“I still am not sure how I feel about the color,” Kourtney, who went to a hue closer to Khloe’s than Kim’s, explained. “I would say dark probably suits me best, but a change is always fun! At this point, I don’t want anything else on my hair besides sulfate-free shampoo and conditioner. :)”

FYI, both the American Pregnancy Association and the Mayo Clinic state that the minimal amount of chemical exposure experienced from hair coloring is not enough to cause any harm to a fetus — so color away!
