Simple beauty routines, secretly healthy recipes and DIY family projects? Jessica Alba swears that it’s all part of living The Honest Life!
Have you started brainstorming your New Year’s resolutions for 2013 yet? Well, it’s never too early to start, as Jessica Alba clearly already has hers in order — the actress wants to teach everyone how to live The Honest Life.
How so? Alba will be adding “celebrity author” to her resume by publishing her very first book! The Honest Life, slated for release in early 2013, will be a how-to handbook that’s based on her mission of creating a natural, non-toxic life for her family, especially her young children, Honor and Haven.
“It’s totally crazy but amazing,” Alba tells People of the news. “I’m not extreme. This book is for people who are in the middle but want to create a healthier life, like me.”
The friendly book name roots from her business, The Honest Company, which she runs with business partner and co-author Christopher Gavigan. She explains that The Honest Life will draw directly from her personal pool of design tips and favorite family recipes.
“Honor’s favorite meatball recipe will be in there,” she notes. “And I always hide flax seeds in everything.”
She plans to make her suggestions of using pure materials both accessible and affordable for all moms who want to live The Honest Life in their own homes.
“It will be easy and fun and I want it to be really colorful,” says Alba. “I’m a crazy foodie. I love doing projects with my kids. Everything in this book will be something meaningful that I’ve incorporated into our lives. I wanted some kind of handbook with all the information I was consuming so I could apply it in a practical way.”
