LISTEN: Madonna's "Girl Gone Wild" gets a remix
The temps are rising, so Madonna's turning up the heat with the remix to her song, Girl Gone Wild. Does it beat the original?
Madonna's song "Girl Gone Wild" caught buzz early on thanks to the controversy with skeezy Girls Gone Wild creator Joe Francis. Now, the Material Girl is looking to continue the interest with the first official remix of the single.
Jordan Atkins-Loria, stage name Lucky Date, has released his official remix of Madonna's "Girl Gone Wild" on Soundcloud and YouTube. It'll be on iTunes for sale, too.
Why have a remix so soon after the single drops? Well, we're talking about Madonna. She knows how to continue a scandal for her own benefit, even if means facing more legal action from Francis.
"We won a battle but we didn’t win the war," Francis told the New York Daily News in late February. He insists that Madge infringed on his Girls Gone Wild copyright and he has to protect his property. "I actually really like the song, which doesn’t mean anything. It’s business. We’ve been very fair with licenses. And we’ve been talking (with Madonna’s people), and I think we’re going to get somewhere that will be mutually satisfactory."
We'll see about that.
The divorced mother of Lourdes, Rocco, David Banda and Mercy is also readying the video for "Girl Gone Wild" — and it looks super sexy. Despite her sex appeal, she still says her motherhood duties trump everything else.
"I'm not going to lie — it's hard work having four kids and doing all the work I do. Sometimes I cope with it very well, sometimes it's a struggle. It's a challenge juggling everything — multi-tasking is my middle name. I try to express that," she said.
