Katy Perry's dad still text buds with Russell Brand
Katy Perry's parents apparently have yet to receive the memo requesting they not speak about their daughter's private life. See what Keith and Mary Hudson have to say about their former son-in-law, Russell Brand.
Katy Perry's parents are practicing the fine art of forgiveness with Russell Brand. Despite her insistence that no one speak on her behalf, Katy Perry's ultra-conservative mother and father have given the press an update on the pop star's divorce from Russell Brand.
"There are no hard feelings towards Russell," Keith Hudson, father of Katy Perry, explained to Us Weekly. "I just received a text from him the other day in fact. He is a wonderful and smart guy."
Katy Perry, pictured here at Paris Fashion Week on March 7, "is doing well just now," her dad went on to say before getting into the nitty-gritty of the Perry/Brand breakup. Keith Hudson commented of the divorce, "Her career got really busy and she did not get to see that much of Russell -- it was just one of those things."
Katy Perry's parents, married for over 30 years, used news of their daughter's divorce to fill the seats at their evangelical Christian ministry early this year -- a move which made the pop star none too happy.
Among the 27-year-old's first statements after the divorce news went public, Katy Perry tweeted, "Concerning the gossip, I want to be clear that NO ONE speaks for me. Not a blog, magazine, 'close sources' or my family."
Yet along with divulging he and Russell Brand are still texting buds, Katy Perry's father updated the press with what little he knows of her love life.
"I don't know anything about this male model guy," Keith Hudson said addressing rumors she's starting a relationship with male model Baptiste Giabiconi, adding, "She is healthy and happy now!"
