Brandon Jacobs is a little bit sorry he said Gisele Bündchen should shut-up. However, he's standing by the rest of his statement about opponent Tom Brady's wife.

If Tom Brady was smart he'd take Brandon Jacobs' back-handed assessment of his wife Gisele Bündchen as a compliment, or so Jacobs thinks. The Giants' running back halfway apologized Wednesday for saying the supermodel ought to "stay cute and shut up."

Speaking to ESPN radio, Brandon Jacobs said of his Gisele Bündchen remarks, "Given the fact that it's a colleague of mine's wife, I do apologize for saying that, because I shouldn't have said that."

The 29-year-old continued of Patriots' quarterback Tom Brady, "It's his wife and I should respect that just as much as anyone else. She is very cute. But [there are] some things that just shouldn't be said by your wife."

When asked if he thought it was acceptable to refer to his opponent's wife as "cute," Jacobs replied, "No question. He should take that as a compliment. If he finds something wrong with that, then that's his problem."

The mixture of insults and compliments began after Bündchen was caught on camera reacting to the Patriots' Super Bowl Sunday loss by saying, "My husband cannot f***ing throw the ball and catch the ball at the same time. I can't believe they dropped the ball so many times."

It was on Monday that Jacobs said at a press conference of Gisele Bündchen, "She just needs to continue to stay cute and shut up."

Do you think Brandon Jacobs' apology to Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen is sincere?
