Macaulay Culkin needs a Big Mac
Macaulay Culkin -- there's a name you don't hear everyday -- is back in the news and setting off alarms about his health. The Home Alone actor was photographed looking gaunt and disheveled on the streets of New York this week.
Oh Mylanta! What on Earth happened to Macaulay Culkin?!
The '90s child star is rousing concerns for his health after snapping pappers got their paws on pics of the incredibly emaciated actor cruising his Queens, New York neighborhood sporting ungroomed facial fluff and a messy crop of untamed hair on Wednesday afternoon.
Has the curse of the troubled child star struck again or is something life-threatening at play?
Culkin is best remembered for his starring role in Chris Columbus' holiday hit Home Alone. Then 10, the actor played Kevin McCallister, a boy whose harried family inadvertently left for a Christmas vacation in Paris without him. During his time on his own, he defended his home from would-be burglars played by Joe Pesci and Daniel Stern. All while his mother (Catherine O'Hara) hitched a ride across country with a polka band in a bid to rescue him.
Home Alone became the top-grossing film of 1990 and spawned several sequels through the early 2000s.
But Macaulay endured troubled times as his childhood cheekiness began to wane.
He famously became embroiled in a bitter dispute with his own parents, Christopher Culkin and Patricia Brentrup. The younger Culkin divorced his kin and sued them for squandering his film fortune.
There was a bust for drug possession in 2004. And his tense testimony at Michael Jackson's child molestation trial the year after. There were even claims that Culkin fathered the King of Pop's youngest son, Blanket.
Tragedy struck in 2008, when Macaulay's sister Dakota died after being hit by a car in Los Angeles.
But we haven't heard much from the once promising actor since January 2011. You remember -- that's when he was spied leaving a Barcelona sex club accompanied by a Spanish adult film star.
How's that for making headlines?
Culkin seemed to have no trouble adapting to his newfound freedom after splitting from his girlfriend of eight years, actress Mila Kunis. Rather than shy away from a photographer posted outside the Bagdad Live Sex Club, Mac smiled and posed with his date, Irene Lopez, as she draped her arms around his neck.
Lopez later called the Kings star a "good person," in a chat with E! News.
"The last time I was with him, no one found out about it," the professional screwer revealed. "I don't know what happened this time that the newspaper heard about it. If there is a possibility that he goes back with Mila, I don't want to be an obstacle. The breakup is really fresh. I don't want to cause him any harm,"
No one's talking about the puny frame Culkin, now 31, appears to be sporting these days, but the star is rumored to be signed on for a spot in the British military action flick Service Man. The film is set for release in 2013.
