Michael Costello reveals that Project Runway is even more grueling than fans think.

Project Runway‘s Michael Costello lets us in on the truth about the time spent in the workroom at Parsons. Even though we are used to hearing “You’ll have twenty-four hours to complete this challenge,” Michael told SheKnows that they often only have twelve or eleven hours.

Oh, and those quick runway critiques aren’t so quick. Depending on how many designers are left in the competition, it can take up to thirteen hours to hear the judges’ two cents.

“You think we’re up there for six or seven minutes getting critiqued by the judges, but it can be six to twelve, to thirteen hours; that’s for six designers’ critique,” Michael revealed. “It’s normally about an hour, hour-and-a-half, of them talking to us and deliberating with us about our look on the runway.”
