Blake Lively: I've only had four boyfriends

Feb 3, 2012 at 10:14 a.m. ET

She's a men's mag staple and a favorite among the ranks of the world's most beautiful women. But Gossip Girl's Blake Lively says she doesn't get out much... at least not with members of the opposite sex.

Would you be surprised if we told you that Blake Lively has only had four boyfriends in her entire life?

How about if she told you the same thing?

It's the month of love and Blake is talking romance with the new issue of Elle magazine. But the actress is drawing criticism from gossip hounds 'round the blogosphere.

Naysayers seem amazed that the fashionista once dubbed the "World's Most Desirable Woman" is no Serena van der Woodsen when the cameras stop rolling.

Serena has a dating resume that, even by conservative estimations, could cover the pages of a supermarket romance novel. Lively, on the other hand, says she has far less romantic experience.

"I've had four boyfriends in my whole life. I've never been with anyone that's not a boyfriend. I didn't have a boyfriend until I was 17," Lively, 24, divulged to Elle.

"If I spend time with a man, it's because there's somebody that I know well who has been a friend for a while," she added.

Just four boyfriends, huh? Hmm, can we count them?

Blake dated her Gossip Girl co-star Penn Badgley for three years before the pair split in 2010. She was then briefly linked to actor Ryan Gosling.

Lively spent last summer cuddling with oft-Oscar-snubbed Leonardo DiCaprio. But that romance fizzled in October, after five months.

Blake's reportedly since moved on (and allegedly moved in) with Ryan Reynolds, her co-star in the superhero flick The Green Hornet.

Did we miss anyone here?

Blake's previously claimed to only having kissed three men.

Speaking of love, on Wednesday, Lively posed in New York with her parents, Elaine and Ernie Lively, at a press event announcing Godiva's Valentine's Day "Sweetest Story Ever Told" contest, which features a grand prize including the chance to meet author Nicholas Sparks.
