David Beckham isn’t known for tossing around the pigskin, but the soccer ace is sure to be one of the most gabbed about stars at Sunday’s Super Bowl. The L.A. Galaxy superstar will make his Super Bowl ad debut promoting his new men’s bodywear collection in a spot for H&M.
One of the biggest sports stars on the planet is starring in an ad spot at the year’s biggest sporting event.
It’s all part of the promo campaign for the David Beckham Bodywear Collection for H&M –Becks’ new men’s line with the popular clothier.
Beckham — former spokes-crotch for Emporio Armani Underwear — announced his partnership with H&M in July. The soccer sportsman has teamed up with the Swedish-based retail giant to launch a new collection of men’s bodywear that will go on sale in 1,800 H&M stores, in approximately 40 countries worldwide, on Feb. 2, 2012.
The collaboration with H&M is expected to earn David $7 million over two years.
The black and white commercial shows off Beckham’s very muscular body.
Oh — and his line of briefs, trunks and nightwear, too.
The new ad spot was shot in Hollywood earlier in the year and marks David’s Super Bowl commercial debut.
He couldn’t be more stoked.
“I’m excited about my bodywear ad featuring in this year’s Super Bowl,” the L.A. Galaxy star said in a statement Monday.
“My design team and I spent 18 months developing the collection, it’s been a fantastic collaborative experience and I’m very happy with the end result. Like every fan, I’m looking forward to Super Bowl Sunday.”
Be on the lookout for Becks and his pecs during the second quarter of the big game.
Super Bowl XLVI will air live from Indianapolis’ Lucas Oil Field on Feb. 5.
