Katy Perry wears brave face at first post-Russ event

Katy Perry is back on the social scene one month after announcing her split from husband Russell Brand. On Friday, the singing star was on hand for a charity event in Las Vegas, which benefited Haitian earthquake relief efforts. It was Katy’s first public appearance since Brand filed for divorce on Dec. 30.

Look who’s finished licking her wounds.

Single songstress Katy Perry has made her first social appearance since her breakup with Russell Brand, accompanying best friend Markus Molinari to a charity event in Las Vegas over the weekend.

Perry has shunned red carpet events since Brand filed for divorce on Dec. 30, citing the celeb-favored “irreconcilable differences.” Katy even pulled out of what would have been her first post-Russ event — the People’s Choice Awards — earlier this month.

The “Teenage Dream” singer was all smiles, however, as she returned to the public eye at the Mirage Hotel’s resident hotspot, 1 Oak, on Friday night.

Katy, 27, was on hand to support Molinari, a jewelry designer, at a charity event supporting victims of the 2010 earthquake that rattled Haiti. The star wore a short black cocktail dress embellished with metal studs and towering high-heeled sandals for the occasion.

She even showed off her new blue hair as she posed for pictures with Markus.

Perry’s appearance impressed socialite Paris Hilton, who was also in the house for last week’s event.

“@KatyPerry looking gorgeous across the room. Love her hair & dress! #Stunning!” she tweeted.

Katy added, “Happy to be supporting my best friend @MDMOLINARI & his j.molinari jewelry w/all my other besties in #VEGAS for a great cause @GiveLoveOrg…”

But the “I Kissed A Girl” singer was apparently not her usual party-loving self away from the cameras.

“She was really tame. She was really just drinking a few drinks and chilling with her friends,” one spywitness divulged to People magazine.

Meanwhile, Russell was spotted attending a Kundalini yoga class at Golden Bridge Yoga in Los Angeles on Saturday.
