Blue Ivy Carter might have a powerful godmother
Oprah Winfrey is adding godmother to her long list of duties, according to an online report.
Bey and Jay reportedly wanted to make sure their daughter's godparents are not blood related, so that's why sister Solange Knowles was taken out of the equation. The godfather is Jay-Z's best friend Tyran "Ty Ty" Smith, according to reports.
The news comes from Media TakeOut, so we'll leave it up to you to decide if there's any truth to it or not. We've reached out to reps for the couple and Oprah to get more on the story.
Regardless, Blue Ivy Carter is going to have one charmed life: She sleeps in a $3,500 crib and has already made her debut on the Billboard Hot 100 for her cameo in Jay's song "Glory."
Oh, and Auntie Solange is going to make sure she's spoiled. Beyoncé's younger sister wants to pay her back for doing the same to her son, Julez.
"This may sound awful, but I'm excited to let the baby do whatever it wants in the same way my sister's done with my son," she said after Blue Ivy's birth.
"I'm going to get her back for all those late-night popcorn sessions and just spoiling my child to no end!"
Still, Solange thinks her sister is going to be an amazing mother.
"My sister is a phenomenal aunt, so I'm ready to be the same in her life. I don't need any advice [on how to be a great aunt]. Because she has been a phenomenal aunt to my son, so she's set the tone as an aunt. I've set the tone as a mom, so we're learning from each other."
