Rainn Wilson: Yes, I look like a young Newt Gingrich
It's said that everyone has a look-alike somewhere in the world. Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum only have to look to Hollywood to find theirs.
Some eagle-eyed fans of The Office noticed something a bit strange about GOP presidential candidate Newt Gingrich — he looks like an older version of Dwight Schrute!
The resemblance isn't lost on Wilson — he added a photo of a young Gingrich as his Twitter avatar. You have to admit, it's uncanny.
The NBC star even offered his services to the campaign back in June.
"Because of the many Newt/Schrute rhyme options, I humbly offer my services as your new campaign manager," Wilson tweeted on June 30.
Sadly, the position was already filled.
"@rainnwilson: We have a campaign manager. What about assistant TO the campaign manager?" Gingrich wrote back.
No hard feelings, though.
"Congrats to @NewtGingrich on his win!" Wilson wrote about the politician's win in the South Carolina primary. "If he's still into the whole 'open marriage' thing I'm VERY interested."
He was referring, of course, to the claim that Gingrich asked his second wife to have an open marriage.
Gingrich isn't the only GOP candidate with a celebrity doppelganger: Rick Santorum's high school yearbook photo bears a striking resemblance to Superbad's McLovin, otherwise known as actor Christopher Mintz-Plasse.
