It's a boy for Grey's Anatomy's Sarah Drew!
Grey's Anatomy star Sarah Drew welcomed her first son on Wednesday. Find out why she decided to wait to find out the sex of her child.
Dr. April Kepner is now a mom! Well, at least the actress that plays her is — Sarah Drew gave birth to a son on Wednesday, her publicist confirmed.
"She and her husband, Peter Lanfer, are in love with him!" her rep said of Micah Emmanuel. The little bundle weighed in at 7 lbs., 4 oz and is 19 inches long.
The Grey's Anatomy stunner kept the sex of her new son a secret until she gave birth. "I thought it would be a good idea to wait to find out because I am a control freak by nature," she told People after announcing her pregnancy.
"I'm about to walk into a chapter of my life where I have no control over anything anymore, and I figured I'd ease myself into it by not allowing myself to plan for the sex of the baby. It's good training for me!" she joked.
She's probably not going to miss some of the unpleasant parts of pregnancy, though.
"The exhaustion," she told FitBottomedMamas.com of the worst part of expecting a child. "I'm normally very energetic, but my energy has been cut in half my whole pregnancy, which means I'm not able to do all the things I usually can, and that is frustrating."
She's also planning to get right back into her workout routine to help her drop the excess baby weight.
"Probably a combination of Pilates, walking and spinning," she said of her post-baby regiment. "I'm also assuming that breastfeeding will help me lose the baby weight."
The only thing she's not sure of is whether or not her Grey's character will ever lose her virginity.
"I keep asking," Drew, 32, told WetPaint.com in December of her character's sexual status. "But she's not getting any action yet!"
