Mariah Carey is my hero, says Nick Cannon
The last 12 months have been a whirlwind for Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon, but one thing's for certain: Their union is stronger than ever. Read on for a total love fest between this happy celebrity couple.
Can we get a collective "Aw"? Nick Cannon gushed over his wife Mariah Carey at the taping of the 2012 BET Honors, calling her his hero and "my angel" -- and making the diva all teary-eyed in the process.
"When times are hard, you guys don't see her at three o'clock in the morning, getting up in the middle of the night, fixing me soup when my kidneys ain't acting right. Mariah Carey does that," Cannon, 31, said onstage before presenting his wife with the Entertainer Award.
"It is truly, truly a blessing to be here tonight, and I am humbled and in awe of everyone's presence, but mostly my hero right there," he said as Carey grew misty in the front row.
While most of us know Carey just as the divalicious powerhouse singer, Cannon said there's a whole other side to her: The one he fell in love with.
"What most people don't get the opportunity to experience is the true woman; the virtuous person who is my angel," he said.
Carey returned the love when she came onstage to accept her award with a very special guest: One of the couple's twins, Roc.
"To my incredible husband who [has been] out of the hospital two days -- look at him all strong and healthy and big and too buff for the tux -- it's incredible," she said.
"This is what makes Roc the most happy," said Carey as Cannon beatboxed to make the baby smile. "And Miss Monroe Cannon's backstage, darling. We were both sewn into our dresses, so she couldn't make it out."
"She's a diva like her mama," Cannon joked.
The BET Honors will air Feb. 13. Check your local listings for times.
