Jon Hamm spills the date: Mad Men returning…

Jon Hamm just can’t keep a secret! The Mad Men star gave up the goods, saying the popular AMC drama would return Sunday, March 25.

It’s been a while since Don Draper swirled a drink in our direction and now we can mark our calendars for Mad Men’s return.

The last time Mad Men aired, it was back in October 2010 — that’s a long time.

So long, in fact, we wonder if people are still interested in the period piece drama set in an ad agency.

Sure they are! Why wouldn’t they be?

According to the Wall Street Journal, Jon Hamm appeared on Doug Loves Movies, a podcast hosted by Doug Benson, revealing the show would return for its fifth season on March 25.

What’s more, Jon Hamm will be behind the camera for the return episode.

Confused? Don’t be. Hamm will direct the episode.

AMC isn’t confirming the March 25 return date just yet, which we are bummed about.

We’ll have to take Jon Hamm’s word for it at this point. We can deal with that.

This marks progress considering the show’s return has been plagued with prolonged contract negotiations between Lionsgate, AMC and its creator/executive producer Matthew Weiner.

Mad Men is expected to be seen through a seventh season. We shouldn’t get ahead ourselves, though. One season at a time, people.

Here’s to hoping this new piece of news is on the up-and-up.
