Duchess of Cambridge Catherine “Kate” Middleton celebrates her 30th birthday on Monday. What have the Royals got planned for the newlywed’s big day?
Paging all the Kate Middleton fanatics out there: Monday is one for the record books!
The Duchess of Cambridge turns the big 3-0 today, Jan. 9, ending her twenties on one heck of a high note.
After an eight-year courtship with Britain’s Prince William, Kate, the daughter of self-made millionaires, finally married her royal hunk in what was the wedding of 2011. She charmed the world with her grace, beauty and younger sister Pippa’s enviable badunkadunk!
Gossip gawkers had been eagerly anticipating a big shindig that was reportedly planned for Kate and set to go down over the weekend. But it sounds like Pippa Middleton and Prince Harry’s plans for a big b-day bash were thrown out in favor of a “low-key and private” bash.
“Whatever is planned will be low-key and private,” a cryptic St. James Palace spokesperson said Sunday.
Last week, the rumor mill was full of speculation about an ’80s-themed party being planned for Kate, complete with karaoke and cocktails. A planned production perfect for a Duchess born in the decade that made taffeta and shoulder pads the latest must-have accessories.
Pippa is a professional party planner with her parents’ mail-order business, Party Pieces. She had reportedly been arranging the event with the help of William’s brother, Prince Harry.
It now looks like Kate will be having a quiet celebration, perhaps one more fitting for a Duchess.
We’ll just have to wait until Pippa’s forthcoming tome on how to be the perfect party hostess arrives on booksellers’ shelves later this year.
Of course it isn’t all bad.
Socialite Kim Kardashian is a huge fan of the newest Royal and has designed a shoe in honor of Kate’s milestone birthday.
“I just wanted to wish the Duchess of Cambridge a really happy 30th birthday. Her style, I love personally and I think that every woman should feel like a princess every day,” Kim said in a recent video for ShoeDazzleUK, where she is chief designer.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star explained that she designed the shoe especially for Kate’s regal requirements and noted that it is similar to those often worn by the Duchess.
