But we might get an earful of Katy’s side of the story when she releases her next album.
Tattling tipsters say the star has been keeping a record of how she feels since her marriage to the British funny guy hit the skids several months ago. She’s now writing about her broken heart in songs, to help her deal with the breakup.
“Ever since problems started to emerge, she penned her thoughts in a diary which she goes back to, to draw upon for lyrics for her songs,” one insider yapped to London’s The Sun this week.
The “California Gurl” has a history of belting out her romantic woes. She famously sung about ex-boyfriend Travie McCoy’s alleged drug use in “Circle the Drain.”
“Thought I was the exception; I could rewrite your addiction; You could have been the greatest; But you’d rather get wasted; You fall asleep during foreplay; ‘Cause the pills you take are more your forte,” Katy crooned on the track.

“She has always said that writing is almost a form of therapy for her and she would often be found in her dressing room on tour writing in her diary. She spent a lot of time in Hawaii over Christmas writing lyrics to two of her latest tracks.”

Russell has been spotted around London looking a bit glum since filing for divorce from Katy on Dec. 30. Brand, 36, called time on the marriage after just 14 months, citing “irreconcilable differences.” In a statement, he maintained that he would “always adore” Perry and that they will “remain friends”.
Rumors claimed Russell wanted to settle down and have children, while Katy was content partying and focusing on her red-hot career.
