No reunion for Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger
Recent reports surfaced of a Shriver-Schwarzenegger reconciliation but sources for E! News confirmed the pair is still on the path toward divorce.
E! News reported today that Maria Shriver and Arnold Schwarzenegger are not on a path towards reconciliation, despite recent sightings of the two wearing wedding rings over the weekend. On Tuesday, TMZ posted photos of Schwarzenegger as he waved to cameras, which clearly showed a ring on his left hand. Since Arnold wasn't seen with his wedding band for a few months, it sent rumors into overdrive. These photographs came just minutes after Maria was seen with jewelry on her ring finger.
News broke of their high-profile breakup when Maria filed for divorce from Arnold in July 2011. Their split came on the heels of a shocking extramarital affair when Schwarzenegger admitted he fathered a child with a member of their house staff, Mildred Baena, in 1997.
Regardless of the photographs, a source for E! News confirmed the couple is still separated. "They are still living apart," said the source.
While Maria was spotted at the family home in Mandeville Canyon in Los Angeles, E! News' source explained Shriver had just visited her children. "The younger kids live at Arnold's house, though, so she is over there a lot." And for those who wondered about the ring-finger photographs? E! News states the pictures of Maria are easily explained -- the jewelry is an heirloom from her late mother, Eunice Shriver.
The U.K.'s Daily Mail reported early this week that Maria's family does not approve of a reconciliation between her and Arnold. A source for the paper states Maria's cousin, Caroline Kennedy, urged Shriver to move forward with the divorce.
