5 Authors to follow on Twitter

Want to keep up with your favorite authors on Twitter? Many of them are tweeting away and connecting with fans. We found five fabulous authors to keep up with on Twitter, those worth the RT and follow. Check out our list and share with us — what authors do you follow?

jen lancaster@altgeldshrugged

Jen Lancaster, author of memoirs such as Bitter is the New Black and Such a Pretty Fat, as well as the novel If You Were Here. Much as in her books, Lancaster is brutally open, honest and funny on Twitter. ??

Eleanor Brown@eleanorwrites

Eleanor Brown, author of The Weird Sisters. Brown is a fan of book news and Justin Bieber. In addition to lovingly promoting her favorite books and authors, she is also endlessly gracious to fans.

?Nigella Lawson@nigella_lawson

Nigella Lawson, Food Network star and author of multiple cookbooks such as Nigella Bites and Nigella Express. Although somewhat less personal and interactive than the other Twitter accounts mentioned here, Lawson is a must-follow for Twitter foodies. Don’t read her feed when you’re hungry, though, or the mouth-watering food pictures she tweets will simply be torture.

?Allison Scotch@aswinn

Allison Winn Scotch, author of four novels, including Time of My Life and the upcoming The Song Remains the Same. Winn Scotch is fun and personable on Twitter, and with a feed full of books, pop culture and parenting, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.??

Erin Blakemore@heroinebook

Erin Blakemore, author of The Heroine’s Bookshelf. A champion of books and rereading, Blakemore is an enthusiastic and interactive tweeter. One highlight of her Twitter stream is the daily quote from a literary heroine, something which is always inspiring and thought-provoking.
