Dark Knight Rises prologue: Where to watch?

The Dark Knight Rises is heading to theaters earlier than expected. The film’s prologue will play in front of Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol on select IMAX screens. Warner Bros. has officially released a list of 42 IMAX venues that will carry the exclusive footage.

Warner Bros. has finally confirmed what we’ve all suspected. They will unveil a special six-minute prologue to The Dark Knight Rises in front of this month’s Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol.

The Dark Knight Rises

Back in October, an exhibitor sent an anonymous tip to Slashfilm, claiming that Warner Bros. had plans to release a special preview of The Dark Knight Rises. A month and a half after the news broke, the studio officially confirmed the prologue and have revealed which IMAX theaters will carry it.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the exclusive footage was given a PG-13 rating from the MPAA. The preview is rumored to feature an introduction of the film’s villain Bane, who’s played by British actor Tom Hardy. Warner Bros. made a similar move in 2007, when they attached a prologue of The Dark Knight to the post-apocalyptic film, I Am Legend.
