No baby, baby: Justin Bieber paternity suit dropped

A woman claiming Justin Bieber fathered her three-month-old baby after a 30-second bathroom tryst has dropped her paternity suit against the star.

Mariah Yeater is quickly backing off her claims that Justin Bieber is the father of her baby. Despite a tearful interview in which she claimed to detail the short sexual encounter between her and the pop star, Yeater has totally dropped her paternity suit.

What happened? Both Yeater and her legal team backed off their claims after Justin Bieber himself said he would gladly take a DNA test to prove he was not the father -- and planned to sue her for defamation after the results came back negative.

It was later revealed that Yeater tried to get Bieber to cough up a hefty cash settlement before the news went public -- and threatened to go to the press if he did not cave in to her pressure. "It could have been done painlessly, with the media never knowing about it," lawyer Jeffery Leving told The New York Daily News.

We all know how that turned out.

In the scandalous -- and most likely untrue -- interview, Yeater claimed Bieber had a security guard pluck her from the crowd and bring her backstage, where the chat they supposedly had turned sexual.

"When we got to what turned out to be a bathroom, his whole demeanor changed," Yeater said. "It went from cute and gushy, you know, to just more aggressive."

Was anyone buying the whole Justin Bieber as sexual aggressor thing? Not his lawyers and eventually not Yeater's lawyers either. Her original legal team has bailed with the exception of one single player.

"I did not step down and there is a legal team. It's a new legal team. In light of death threats against my client, strategies have been reviewed... the San Diego team has been replaced," said attorney Jeffery Leving in an interview with Chicago's WGNtv.

"She believes Justin Bieber is the father. Right now there's no more interviews for Mariah Yeater, I'm not going to allow that. Secondly, negotiations are going on right now with Bieber's counsel and we're trying to negotiate a private, secure DNA test with the same safe guards that would exist if there were a court order, but without a court order," said Leving.

As for Bieber, he has remained steadfast in his insistence that not only is he not the father of this baby, but he has never even met Mariah Yeater.

"I know that I'm going to be a target, but I'm never going to be a victim," he said.
