Three new clips of Diablo Cody rom-com Young Adult

Charlize Theron plays a drunk, self-absorbed fiction writer who returns to her hometown to try to woo her now married ex-boyfriend. Trouble! We love it!

Young Adult

Every woman has one guy who got away, but have you ever considered going after him? Even though he’s married with kids and still lives in your hometown — the place you never go back to and generally hate?

Coming home to paradise, er… the local motel

That’s the idea behind Charlize Theron‘s new movie, Young Adult, the journey of one uber flirty, drunk chick who returns home to take matters into her own hands.

Running into people you ignored in high school

Patton Oswalt (The King of Queens, Magnolia) plays the locker mate who remembers just how much he was ignored.

How to woo your ex… when he has a wife

Patrick Wilson plays Buddy Slade, the guy who got away. Uh… and who now has a wife. That doesn’t stop our girl from taking him out to a rock concert.

This indie comedy is directed by Jason Reitman of Thank You for Smoking and Up in the Air fame. This is Reitman’s second time pairing with Oscar-winning screenwriter Diablo Cody. They previously worked together on Juno, the teen dramedy about a pregnant girl trying to find her way in the world.

Young Adult is sure to offer the same quirky overtones about life in the Midwest with plenty of scenes of Theron getting drunk, saying the wrong thing and falling on her ass — just how we like it!
