True love reigns: Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez going strong
Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are still going strong, despite rumors that she dropped him last week.
Phew! Just when we thought true love was dead, word comes that Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez haven't split after all. The twosome — dogged by rumors of Bieber's maybe-baby with fan Mariah Yeater — were spotted together over the weekend at the MTV European Music Awards.
"Great job tonight @selenagomez at the EMA's," he tweeted. "Proud of you."
RadarOnline first posted the split rumors on Friday.
"Selena ended it abruptly," a source told the entertainment website. "She broke the news to Justin just in the past 24 hours."
The source went on to say that Bieber's camp was begging Gomez to take him back — a high-profile break-up during the baby scandal wouldn't look good for the 17-year-old singer.
"His camp is in damage-control mode and attempting to convince her to stick around in the relationship for a few more weeks, because they fear it will be seen as an admission that something indeed took place between Justin and the woman who is alleging that he's the father of her baby," the insider said. "Justin has insisted to Selena that the woman's allegations are simply not true."
However, the Under the Mistletoe singer's rep insists they're still together.
Good thing, too — Bieber's going to need all the support he can get over the next couple of weeks. The baby-faced singer has agreed to a DNA test after he returns to the United States to put the baby rumors to bed once and for all. He then plans to sue the California woman when he's cleared as the father.
"I know I'm going to be a target, but I'm never going to be a victim. It's crazy, every night after the show I've gone right from the stage right to my car, so it's crazy some people want to make up such false allegations. But to set the record straight, none of it is true," Bieber told the Today show on Friday.
Hopefully he writes his own version of Billie Jean after this whole fiasco is over.
