Justin Bieber denies baby: "Never met the woman"
Justin Bieber says there is no truth to the rumors that he fathered a child with a fan and says he never even met the woman.
In an appearance on Today to promote his new Christmas album Under the Mistletoe, Bieber flatly denied the accusation.
"I'd just like to say basically that none of those allegations are true," Bieber said. "I know that I'm going to be a target, but I'm never going to be a victim."
"It's crazy, every night after the show I've gone right from the stage right to my car, so it's crazy that some people want to make up such false allegations. To set the record straight, none of it is true."
Matt Lauer asked, "Do you know this woman? Her name is Mariah Yeater?"
"Never met the woman," Bieber said.
Meanwhile, police say they may look into the alleged tryst as a case of statutory rape. If what his maybe baby mama says is true, Bieber would have been just 16 at the time of their sexual encounter while Yeats was 19. According to California law, anyone who has sex with a minor and is not more than three years older than that minor is guilty of a misdemeanor, punishable by one year in jail.
"If it's brought to our attention, of course we'll look into it," Los Angeles police Cmdr. Andrew Smith told The Associated Press.
