Grey's Anatomy sneak peek: "Heart Shaped Box"
On tonight's Grey's Anatomy, two True Blood alums and a face from the past check into Seattle Grace while Cristina is forced to babysit a "Heart Shaped Box."
A harvested heart continues to beat outside of its body, while Avery (Jesse Williams) deals with the fact that Lexie's (Chyler Leigh) heart still beats for Mark (Eric Dane) on Grey's Anatomy: "Heart Shaped Box." Plus, George O'Malley's (T. R. Knight) mom (Debra Monk) returns and Tara's True Blood auntie and girlfriend, Alfre Woodard and Vedette Lim, guest star. Don't miss the sneak peek below!
The Seattle Grace docs face yet another medical miracle when they witness a harvested heart that continues to beat after being removed from its body. Cristina's awe is quashed, however, when Teddy (Kim Raver) tasks her with babysitting the box.
Meanwhile, Bailey (Chandra Wilson) refuses to let another O'Malley die on her watch when George's mother, Louise, shows up at Seattle Grace. Against her better judgment, Bailey's forced to rely on Meredith (Ellen Pompeo) to serve as her proxy. If things go well, this could help the ladies move past their drama and get Mer back on track with the Alzheimer study, but it doesn't look good.
Having Louise in the house has the docs reflecting on their late pal, George. Most get nostalgic, especially the former Mrs. Callie O'Malley (Sara Ramirez). Of course, Alex (Justin Chambers), who battled George for Izzie's (Katherine Heigl) love and hospital status, doesn't have any interest in reminiscing.
"George made you look like such a chump," Cristina chuckles in the sneak peek clip posted below.
Unfortunately, a new doctor might be doing the same thing to him this week. Arizona (Jessica Capshaw) is psyched about the new pediatric fellow (Vedette Lim), which makes Alex feel threatened. We all know how he handles that emotion.
Alfre Woodard also checks into the Seattle Grace hospital as a renowned author and as you can see from the image above, she'll be under the care of Derek (Patrick Dempsey) and Lexie tonight, which means she must be battling some type of brain trauma.
Grey's Anatomy: We're all just "Heart Shaped Boxes"
As is often the case with Greys, romantic drama will have viewers' hearts skipping a beat or two.
The hospital's honeymooners, for example, are heading for their first marital spat. After years of being in and out of the hospital as a patient, Henry (Scott Foley) is finally getting a glimpse at the magic behind the curtain, thanks to Teddy. He's amazed by his medical diva of a wife after watching her do her thing in the OR, but when Henry expresses an interest in going to medical school, Teddy is less than thrilled.
With the memory of Lexie hitting Mark's (Eric Dane) new woman (Holley Fain) with a baseball last week fresh in his mind, Avery is feeling reasonably insecure about his relationship this week. She continues to make her feelings for Mark painfully clear, until Avery realizes it's affecting his work and calls her out on it.
