If you have been fretting over the perfect wedding gift for Tara Reid, you can stop worrying. The American Pie actress admits her marriage was a fake and her Greek wedding was all for publicity.

Reid's wedding to Bulgarian financier Zack Kehayov in August was billed as the culmination of a whirlwind romance -- but it turns out it was just a ploy to gain publicity for her stint on the British reality show Celebrity Big Brother.

Reid was accosted by paparazzi at LAX who asked her if she and her supposed hubby would win if they were contestants on The Newlywed Game.

"We would lose," she said. "We were never really married, it was never legal."

Are they still together? Are they planning to make it legal? Reid would not answer.

The day the fake marriage happened, Reid first tweeted that she got engaged, then just a couple of hours later followed up by writing that they had wed -- along with a photo of her engagement and wedding rings.

Photos of the big day were later released by Reid, showing the bride in what looked like a hastily thrown together bridal ensemble.

Reid was previously engaged to TV host Carson Daly and web entrepreneur Michael Axtmann. Fake marriages aside, she is keeping busy these days filming the American Pie reunion -- even though she is being paid pennies on the dollar compared to her costars.
