Christina Hendricks in Need for Speed: The RunMad Men's Christina Hendricks has a thing for cars. The actress, who previously appeared in the car-centric drama Drive, lends her voice to the new video game Need for Speed: The Run.

Like most motion capture projects, Need for Speed: The Run incorporates multiple elements from each actor, including their voice, image and movements. Hendricks told The Hollywood Reporter that during a motion capture shoot, "You're surrounded by about 200 cameras, so you don't have to light and move the cameras and all the other things you would do in film."

In Need for Speed: The Run, Hendricks plays a wealthy woman named Sam Harper, who manages drivers in the underground world of street racing. She only works with the best of the best, which is why she teams up with the talented Jack Rourke (Sean Faris) to embark on a cross-country race for $25 million.

"She's got a lot of money riding on it, but she's also sort of protecting him because he's from the old hood," said Hendricks. Harper is just another example of the actress' love for playing powerful women. The tone and delivery of the character was a real deal breaker for Hendricks.

"I wanted to make sure that if I was going to do a video game that it was a really strong and cool character," said Hendricks. "She's powerful and she's strong and she's smart. I think that's the kind of women I like to play."

Need for Speed: The Run hits shelves on Nov. 15.
