Justin Timberlake shares his love of "green" at Environmental Awards
Justin Timberlake is a big fan of nature -- especially the green parts.
Justin Timberlake is willing to put his famous name out in the public eye for the sake of the environment, nature and most specifically the herbs. At Saturday night's Environmental Media Awards, the singer and actor spoke eloquently about his love of all things green.
Justin Timberlake, pictured here at the event in Burbank, was given the EMA Futures Award which celebrates a person "just hitting [his/her] stride in terms of environmental commitment and activism."
The 30-year-old, who has previously spoken openly about his love of weed, gave a humorous his acceptance speech. "I like a lot of green things like nature, and money, and things like Kermit the Frog, golf greens, Al Green, hell - I even love Seth Green," said Justin Timberlake.
The Friends with Benefits actor continued, "I like all sorts of green herbs, some of which I take with medical prescription. It's legal! Uh, green tea. That's what I was referring to. Green tea."
From there Justin Timberlake played off the song lyrics of Joni Mitchell to describe why he created Mirimichi, the first eco-friendly golf course. "My family and I heard that somebody was going to 'Pave paradise and turn it into a parking lot,' so I decided to buy paradise myself instead!"
Describing why he loves weed so much, the musician and actor told Playboy magazine in June, "The only thing pot does for me is it gets me to stop thinking. Sometimes I have a brain that needs to be turned off. Some people are just better high...I feel I'm just getting to a point in my life where I'm looking around, going, there's a lot to enjoy if I can just sit still, actually stop and take more time."
Congratulations to Justin Timberlake on the EMA Futures Award!
