Evangeline Lilly has a birth story for the record books! The actress not only endured 30 hours of labor, she did it in a most unusual environment.

Evangeline Lilly's birth story is a whopper. The mother of a 5-month-old boy -- who has only given clues about her son's name thus far -- detailed her experience during Monday's visit to The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Evangeline Lilly explained, "We decided to have the baby at home because we wanted it to be a natural birth, and it turns out that it was 30 hours of natural."

Twenty-two of those hours were spent in labor, leaving an enormous chunk of time the actress spent pushing. "Eight hours of pushing, that's the part that men don't understand," the Real Steel star quipped. "Women go, 'Oh dear, oh dear, God! Eight hours of pushing?' And the men are like, 'Okay, eight hours of pushing.'"

Five hours into that pushing phase Lilly's midwife stepped in and offered "a few suggestions."

"And I was like 'Really?'" Evangeline Lilly laughed. "'After five hours of pushing you have a few suggestions? You couldn't have told me five minutes in?'"

Evangeline Lilly's baby boy was finally born --outdoors-- during a thunderstorm! "I had my baby outside in a thunderstorm," the 32-year-old recently told Jimmy Kimmel, hinting that her son's name has something to do with the experience. "It was really romantic."
