Exclusive clip: Andie MacDowell portrays the perfect southern mom in Footloose
The sexy and sophisticated Andie MacDowell plays a concerned wife and mother opposite Dennis Quaid and Julianne Hough in the new Footloose, the dance movie remake that's gonna make you want to cut loose.
Don't be fooled by her quiet demeanor and enchanting southern drawl, Andie MacDowell continues to surprise audiences in every role she takes. She's been the saucy TV producer in Groundhog Day, the oppressed housewife in Sex, Lies and Videotape and the elusive American in Four Weddings and Funeral.
Now, she's got the emotional weight of the electric dance movie Footloose in her hands. MacDowell plays Vi Moore, a preacher's wife living in a small town where dancing is illegal. The rules are set into place by her overbearing husband, played by Dennis Quaid.
When a city slicker high school kid Ren McCormack – played by Kenny Wormald – rolls into town and temps their daughter Ariel – played by Julianne Hough – to go against the norm, life starts to unravel.
At risk of losing their daughter because they've been too overbearing, Vi must take a stand against her husband – something she's never done in 20 years. Watch Andie MacDowell make her point in this exclusive clip from the new Footloose.
