The Vampire Diaries recap: Damon's snapping necks and biting a Forbes!

Oct 6, 2011 at 10:18 p.m. ET

The behavior of our favorite supernatural beings got, well, disturbing this week on The Vampire Diaries, making the title "Disturbing Behavior" the perfect tribute.

The Vampire Diaries got weird this week as Klaus  (Joseph Morgan) and Stefan (Paul Wesley) entered some weird universe where it actually looked like they liked each other -- for a second. Of course, their common ground was Rebekah, but little did Klaus and his little sister know, Stefan was trying to keep them from finding Elena's (Nina Dobrev) necklace.

A universe where Klaus and Stefan got chummy as they picked on the hybrid's little sister Rebekah and Damon and Elena cooked chili? Wow, were we watching The Vampire Diaries? Guess that's why they called it "Disturbing Behavior."

TVD: The necklace causes a disturbing bromance

Klaus, Rebekah and Stefan are still roaming Chicago and preying on Gloria's help to find the necklace that could lead the hybrid to a very much alive Elena.

Using Rebekah as a connector, Gloria claimed to have seen a girl and her friends with the necklace, but she left out one important piece of information -- she saw the gal-pals chatting about Stefan.

She left Klaus out of her plan -- but Stefan was very much a part of it.

This witch-bitch wanted the necklace for herself and she wasn't shy about torturing Stefan to try and get what she wanted. She pulled out all kinds of tricks -- vervain, witch hazel, cutting -- the works, to find out where the necklace was.

Just as she put the pieces of the puzzle together, Katherine swooped in and took the witch out.

As if that wasn't bad enough, Rebekah planted a kiss on Stefan that wasn't to her liking, so she squealed to Klaus that he wasn't with them -- poor Stefan.

Klaus did his own detective work and took them back to Mystic Falls. We'll have to wait and see what happens with that next week -- the previews show more draining of Elena's blood -- at least that's what it looks like.

Damon  (Ian Somerhalder) and Elena got chummy this week -- by cooking chili and attending a potluck at the Lockwood mansion. Don't worry, it was just a set up for the craziness that ensued.

See, Damon compelled Caroline's (Candice Accola) dad to forget about Caroline and the vampires earlier in the episode, but he returned somehow and tried to control the Council.

With Alaric standing in his way, Damon snapped his neck, "temporary funeral-style," and took a bite of Bill Forbes.

This caused Barbie-vampire and Damon to kick each other's asses, which would have been absolutely hysterical had it not prompted a serious moment of "Damon stop acting like a vampire" from Elena.

Okay, there was way too much sexual tension between Elena and Damon and we're glad she finally admitted that she can't admit what's she feeling for him because "what would that say about her?"

After Alaric finally woke up, he inserted himself as a new member of the Council. We like the new badass Alaric!

tvd: jeremy's disturbing ghost girls

Jeremy (Steven R. McQueen) welcomed Bonnie (Kat Graham) back with open arms as creepy Anna lurked on. Anna claimed she's in this weird push-pull situation and every time she sees Vicki, she sees darkness surrounding her.

While Bonnie and Jeremy were trying to find out what was up with Elena's necklace, Anna appeared and spookily said, "The darkness is here." Poof -- the spell book they were working with went up in flames.

Jeremy finally told Bonnie the truth, but something weirder is going on here -- we just haven't figured it out yet. As Bonnie was telling Elena what Jeremy was seeing, she whooshed away and then it cut to Katherine at Damon's door with the necklace. Uh-oh -- Kat fooled Bonnie!
