Exclusive video: A peek inside Hugh Jackman’s Real Steel
Hugh Jackman plays the unlikely father to an 11-year-old boy in Real Steel, the robot boxing movie that’s gonna knock you out.
Robot boxing? What is robot boxing? Exactly what you think it is, two robots fighting to the death – or system failure – as controlled by their owners via remote control. Sounds pretty cool, huh? It's the topic of the new sci-fi action movie, Real Steel, starring Hugh Jackman, Evangeline Lilly and Anthony Mackie. The film comes out October 7.
The story takes place in a futuristic world of robot boxing where it's illegal for humans to fight. Hugh Jackman plays Charlie Kenton, a former boxing contender who is now an underground robot boxing expert just trying to get by. The movie opens with him broke, out of work and down on his luck.
When his 11-year-old son, Max – played by Dakota Goyo -- is reintroduced with his father, it's unclear just how Jackman will deal with the situation and his looming debt. When the two team up over a love of robot boxing, there's no telling what will happen. In this exclusive clip, Jackson reveals his most recent purchase – an expensive boxing robot from Japan named Noisy Boy.
Having underestimated his son, Jackman is in for a surprise. Click below to see this exclusive clip from the movie Real Steel.
