Taylor Armstrong wanted to hug dead husband's body
Taylor Armstrong says she wanted to hug Russell Armstrong's body when EMTs pronounced him dead.
Taylor Armstrong of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills was on the scene when the body of her husband Russell Armstrong was found hanging in a guest room at a friend's home -- and she says that she wanted to say a special goodbye to her alleged abuser, but emergency workers would not allow it.
In the continuation of her interview with Entertainment Tonight, Taylor said, "I did not [see his body]. I asked the -- and I'm sure a lot of people won't understand this -- but I asked the emergency workers if I could go in and hug him before they took him away but they wouldn't let me."
"I just felt like I needed to see him one last time, but they wouldn't let me," she said tearfully.
And yes, the rumor is true: Despite the fact that they were separated with a great deal of acrimony between them, Taylor is wearing Russell's wedding ring.
"I'm now wearing his wedding ring and mine together," Taylor said. "Right now I'm still doing anything I can to figure out how to get close to him. I still have the last shirt he wore before the night of and sometimes I sit in my closet with it 'cause maybe I think I'm gonna get insight or maybe I just need to feel close to him."
In part one of her interviews with Entertainment Tonight Taylor detailed the abuse she says she suffered at the hands of Russell, claiming he first harmed her when she was pregnant with their daughter Kennedy -- who, she says, was not in the house when her father's body was found.
"Kennedy was [in the car] sitting on Julie's [Taylor's assistant] lap pretending to steer and she said 'Julie, did my daddy do something dumb?'"
Russell Armstrong committed suicide on August 15, 2011.
Part two of the interview with Taylor Armstrong airs Wednesday on Entertainment Tonight.
