Glee premiered its third season with “The Purple Piano Project.” Read on to see who’s a senior, who’s a junior and what’s up with Quinn’s hair.
Glee kicked off its third season on Tuesday night and boy was it purple!
Slushies, congressional Sue and purple pianos — it all went down on the season premiere of Glee.
Before we tell you all about The Purple Piano Project, let’s find out what the kids of McKinley High have been up to since their embarrassing Nationals loss. You know Jacob the reporter had to fill us in.
Glee: let’s get caught up
Puck and Lauren broke up after she left the New Directions. Speaking of relationships, Meredes is no longer dating Sam after he moved when his dad got a new job, but she now has a new man.
Rachel and Kurt are on the hunt for a college.
Santana’s now trying to take back the Cheerios while admiring Paula Abdul, and Quinn died her hair pink, got a new tattoo of Ryan Seacrest and joined a “gang” called the Skanks.
Oh, Brittany’s inventing a time machine and Mr. Schue (Matthew Morrison) and Emma are dating — and making each other’s lunches.
Now that you’re up to speed, here’s what went down on The Purple Piano Project
glee: the purple piano project
In order to push the kids harder, Mr. Schue unveiled The Purple Piano Project. Every time the kids saw one of the purple pianos he built around the school, he wanted them to play music in hopes of recruiting more kids to the glee club now that Quinn and Lauren are out of the New Directions.
Sue (Jane Lynch), on a mission to boost her congressional run, decided to lobby for something everyone hates — the glee club. She rallied to cut funding.
Rachel, Santana and Brittany busted out We Got The Beat in the middle of the lunch room, but all the kids just pelted them with food.
We can’t forget this — Sue made Becky and Santana co-captains of the Cheerios and Kurt convinced Blaine to transfer to McKinley — cue the Tom Jones number and some awesome sunglasses courtesy of Blaine.
In an interesting end, that we saw coming based on spoilers, Santana was kicked out of New Directions after the Cheerios set fire to one of the pianos and he questioned her loyalty.
glee: the glee project’s lindsay pearce
The Glee Project’s Lindsay Pearce appeared in a crazy-good musical number to kick off her two-episode stint. She was featured as part of a plot that featured Kurt and Rachel spying on the competition while searching for the perfect college (they realize they might not be so good outside of McKinley High)
Did you catch the season premiere of Glee? So far we know Kurt (who is also running for class president) and Rachel are on the hunt for a college, Quinn is dark and Sue is angry…
Where do you think Ryan Murphy is taking season three?
