After lots of talk over who will be back on The Real Housewives of New York City, Bravo has finally confirmed who will not be returning. Read on to find out what they revealed.

How many housewives will be returning on the next edition of The Real Housewives of New York City? We can tell you three have been asked back and four have not.

Recent reports said Cindy Barshop, Jill Zarin, Alex McCord and Kelly Bensimon would not be returning to The Real Housewives of New York City -- and those reports are true.

Bravo has confirmed that the ladies who made us laugh and cringe have not been asked back for the next season.

The network said in a statement, "Ramona Singer, Sonja Morgan and LuAnn De Lesseps will be returning for season five of The Real Housewives of New York."

The statement went on to say, "We've had a fabulous run with all the ladies and appreciate them sharing their lives with our viewers. It is a friendly departure among the other ladies and we continue to have ongoing discussions with them."

The ladies lit up Twitter to address the situation, with Cindy Barshop saying she and Bravo left on "great terms" and Alex McCord saying she parted "sadly but amicably."

Both Alex and her husband have eluded to the fact that it won't be the last time we see them on TV.

With the ladies taking their act on the road for four dates, it will be interesting to see how they handle the scuttlebutt and what they have to say at the events. We'll keep you posted.

What do you think -- can The Real Housewives of New York City survive without Jill Zarin, Alex McCord, Cindy Barshop and Kelly Bensimon?
