Alec Baldwin talks about Schweddy Balls
Alec Baldwin confirms he's all about the Schweddy Balls.
Alec Baldwin took some time out of his busy schedule of tweeting and talking about his 27-year-old girlfriend to praise Ben & Jerry's for their ingenious Schweddy Balls creation.
"They sent me a sample months ago," Baldwin told Entertainment Weekly. "They messengered it over to my house. I had a container arrive on dry ice with malted milk balls and rum-tinged vanilla. I was well aware they were headed in that direction."
The prolific Saturday Night Live host played Schweddy Ball purveyor Pete Schweddy in a skit with Ana Gasteyer and Molly Shannon. Sadly, Baldwin probably won't partake in his namesake ice cream.
"I'm a fan of all Ben & Jerry's, but I'm on a diet now so I've kind of cut back," he said. Not surprising, since the veteran actor told a fan on Twitter that he weighs in at a hefty 315 lbs.
"For a long time, I thought that 'Here Lies Pete Schweddy' would end up on my tombstone," Baldwin added in a statement.
"Now, thanks to Ben & Jerry's, the goodness of the Schweddy family recipe won't go with me to the great beyond. It is immortalized here, right now, and it's an ice cream. Ben & Jerry's and Schweddy. Two great names in American dessert, together at last."
We can't wait to get some of Schweddy's rum-laced vanilla ice cream and fudge-covered rum-and-malt balls in our mouth.
