Kate Bosworth: Alexander Skarsgard 'is terrifying'
Kate Bosworth talks about ex-boyfriend Alexander Skarsgard in a new interview. Why does she think he's terrifying?
Kate Bosworth might not be with Alexander Skarsgard anymore, but that hasn't stopped her from talking about him. The duo -- who met on the set of the upcoming film Straw Dogs -- had quite the harrowing scene together during the film.
In Straw Dogs, Skarsgard plays a violent local boy in Bosworth's home town in the deep south. The violence comes to a head when his posse attacks the home of Bosworth's character and he sexually assaults her.
Naturally, it wasn't an easy scene for either of them.
"I told Alex not to worry about me, to just go for it. I said, I need you to lose yourself in this moment. And it was actually violent. He's a huge guy," Bosworth told Blackbook magazine in a new interview. "When he was ripping off my clothes in front of a room filled with men, even though I knew it was make-believe, it was still incredibly violating and terrifying. The panic you see flooding me in that rape scene is real."
James Marsden -- Bosworth's husband in the film -- said it was disturbing for everyone involved.
"They'd definitely marked it on their calendars," he told the magazine. "Earlier that week, they both kind of dropped off the map. They had vacant expressions on their faces—not in their scenes but socially. You could tell it was looming over them."
Luckily, things eventually went back to normal. "Afterward it was beers again," Marsden joked.
Bosworth still has plenty of kinds words to say about her ex.
"Alex is so kind and so dedicated and so incredibly professional," she said. "He's got this rare, wonderful control and stillness that you notice in a lot of old movie stars. He looks you in the eye. I feel incredibly lucky to have had that type of man on this movie."
