Ryan Gosling stops a New York City street fight
It's Ryan Gosling to the rescue as The Notebook actor stops a street fight in Manhattan.
Fellas, if you want to get in a fight on a street in New York City, you better make sure Ryan Gosling isn't around.
A buff, baseball-capped guy who appears to be Gosling, star of The Notebook, broke up a scuffle and it was captured in a video that was posted on YouTube on Saturday.
The altercation begins on St. Marks Place in the East Village between two combatants who struggle over what appears to be art supplies. The struggle is so intense that it stops a New York City bus from making a right-hand turn as well as other traffic.
Then, Gosling pops up out of nowhere and grabs one of the combatant's arms. From there, it appears he talks down the situation and it's no wonder why he was so successfully persuasive: He looks like he can do some damage judging by the size of his bare arms, exposed in a striped tank top.
In the video, Gosling and the group make its way to the sidewalk where Gosling's The Giving Tree tattoo is clearly visible. Just to make sure, we called his rep and are waiting for more info.
"That's the guy from the movie," says a voice on the vid.
"What movie?" says another.
"The Notebook," replies the original voice.
"Are you serious?" is the startled reply.
Yep, Gosling's serious about keeping the peace. Look for Gosling in the upcoming political thriller The Ides of March.
