Helen Mirren's plastic surgery stance: Yes, but no
For Helen Mirren plastic surgery isn't a black or white issue. While the actress has spoken about everyone's right to do what they want with their bodies, her opinion takes a sharp turn when it comes to young people.
Helen Mirren is clarifying her stance on plastic surgery in the latest issue of InStyle. The 66-year-old actress has previously seemed an advocate of having a little work done, but now we know she doesn't approve of everyone going under the knife.
Last January Helen Mirren explained that though she's never chosen to have any work done, she doesn't judge fellow actresses who have. She said, "You go, 'I don't want to look at that face anymore,' and I understand that, absolutely… I think people should be allowed to do whatever they want to make themselves feel happy."
Now, before you run off with Helen Mirren's blessing of approval, understand her accepting stance doesn't apply to everyone. When asked about fashion advice for young people for the September issue of InStyle the Oscar winner replied:
"The only thing I don't like on young people is plastic surgery. The purity of youthful beauty is so fantastic to me that it's horrific when young girls get fake things."
Do you agree with Helen Mirren's two-sided stance on plastic surgery?
