The Odd Life of Timothy Green is tempting viewers an entire year in advance of its August 15, 2012 release date. Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton star in the touching film about a couple on the verge of giving up their hopes of having a child when a little magic intervenes.
After being told there’s nothing more doctors can do to help them conceive a child Cindy Green (played by Jennifer Garner) and Jim Green (Joel Edgerton) grab a bottle of wine and dream up their ideal child. The next morning a 10-year-old boy shows up on their doorstep out of the blue!
While the origins of the child are being kept secret for the time being, you can bet the mystery child embodies every one of his parent’s wishes. “He’s a boy with the qualities that his parents hope for,” says director Peter Hedges (Dan in Real Life), but “those qualities manifest in ways they never could have imagined.”
Jennifer Garner tells USA Today, “He doesn’t have any emotional memories. He’s completely naïve to the way the world works … someone who’s honest to a fault is called honest to a fault for a reason.”
The actress, who was visited by husband Ben Affleck and their two daughters daily on the Georgia film set for The Odd Life of Timothy Green, identifies with her character saying, “There’s no deeper want for a woman than to be a mother.”
