Ben Flajnik was understandably hurt when Ashley Hebert rejected his proposal during the season finale of The Bachelorette, but he's actually thankful for Ashley. Read on to find out why.

It was an emotional end to Ben Flajnik and Ashley Hebert's romance on The Bachelorette. Ben appeared on the After the Final Rose special to talk about his heartbreaking proposal and why he's happy Ashley came into his life.

After telling Ashley Hebert, "Every second I spend with you makes me fall deeper in love with you. I want to thank you for allowing me to feel completely and utterly vulnerable and open with you," on the finale of The Bachelorette, she turned him down.

Ben told Chris Harrison once he was on one knee getting back up "was the hardest part." We imagine it would be, especially because he had to attend his best friend's wedding after leaving Fiji.

You could feel the anger coming from Ben Flajnik when Ashley rejected him. He admitted that he was upset after putting himself out there, but after some reflection that anger has turned into gratitude.

He was in love with her, but how does he feel about Ashley today? "I think about Ashley," he said. He added, "I'm a more complete person because of her and this journey."

When he saw her for the first time since Fiji during the After The Final Rose special, it was clear he couldn't have done anything more. Despite telling her it couldn't end on happy terms during the finale, he said he thought the friendship would be fine.

Ben Flajnik is open to love and despite rumors he's dating a Brad Womack cast-off, we feel he could be on the next edition of The Bachelor.
