What’s with all the celebrities showing hearts on Twitter?

Celebrities are donating their Twitter accounts to help three Texas orphans. What is going on?

We’ll admit: It’s been pretty confusing to read our timelines on Twitter yesterday and today, because so many of our favorite celebs changed their avatars to an image of two hands making a heart shape.

Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga and Britney Spears support Show Your Hearts

What gives? Turns out, celebrities like Britney Spears, Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga donated their avatars to promote the Show Your Hearts Foundation.

“[July 27] we all change our profile pics on twitter and facebook and make a donation to #SHOWYOURHEARTS,” Biebs tweeted. “Spread the word. #makeachange.”

The foundation’s goal is to help raise money for the Joshua and Robin Berry Children’s Trust. The couple died in a car accident on July 3 while driving back to their Houston home from a family vacation in Colorado. The couple’s three children — Peter, 9, Aaron, 8, and Willa, 6 — were seriously injured, including serious spinal cord injuries in both boys.

How horrible. The children are facing a serious uphill battle, without the love of their parents. Here’s hoping the celebrity support continues to help raise money for their care.

Are you donating to the Show Your Hearts campaign?
