David and Victoria Beckham welcomed a baby girl on Sunday morning. What posh baby name did they give her — and what could her numeric middle name mean? Read on to find out!
Victoria Beckham gave birth to a baby girl in L.A. Sunday morning — and the much anticipated fourth child (and first girl!) for Victoria and David Beckham has a posh baby girl name to go along with her posh family.
“I am so proud and excited to announce the birth of our daughter Harper Seven Beckham,” David wrote on his Facebook page. “She weighed a healthy 7lbs 10oz and arrived at 7:55 this morning, here in LA. Victoria is doing really well and her brothers are delighted to have a baby sister xx.”
Harper joins her three big brothers, Brooklyn, 12, Romeo, 8, and Cruz, 6.
What is the significance of her middle name Seven? Besides the Beckhams thinking it is a lucky number, it was also David’s old soccer jersey number for Manchester United and England! He had to give up the number when he joined Spain’s Real Madrid team because team captain Raul already had it.
The name Harper is a name that is English in origin meaning Harpist or minstrel. The name has steadily been moving up the Social Security Administration’s top baby name list, coming in at number 887 in 2004 and moving up to 119 on the most recent list.
Harper has been fairly popular among celebrities, with actor Neil Patrick Harris naming one of his twins this popular name and Lisa Marie Presley also naming one of her twin girls this name.
Harper, who was born via c-section, reportedly looks just like Victoria when she was a baby!
