No big surprises at MTV Awards
While it was no surprise that The Twilight Saga: Eclipse took home the evening's biggest prizes, there were a few jaw droppers at the 2011 MTV Movie Awards. Most were in the "colorful" language used by the night's biggest stars, as well as one moment that can only be described as bizarre. And why was Gary Busey in a hamster ball anyway?
For movie fans, the biggest highlights came from exclusive MTV premieres of the latest installments of the Harry Potter franchise, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II and The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, the final chapter in the highly successful series. Some of the low points included beleaguered actor Gary Busey giving out the Best Movie Award in an oversized hamster ball.
By far, the best "I know better than you" statement of the night came from Reese Witherspoon, a Hollywood vet who told it like it is to the starlets in attendance by stating, "It is cool to be bad, but it is also possible to make it in Hollywood without a reality show. It's possible to be a good girl and be cool. And, if you are going to take naked photos of yourself with your cell phone, remember to cut your head off."
