Biggest Loser winner Olivia Ward lost 129 pounds
The Biggest Loser contestant Olivia Ward lost nearly half of her body weight to become the winner -- and has gained a chance to start a family.
New York opera singer Olivia Ward, 35, beat out Irene Alvarado and her sister Hannah Curlee to become season 11's Biggest Loserchamp. Ward, who started out the show weighing 261, lost an incredible 129 pounds (or 49.43 percent of her body weight) for an ending weight of 132 and won the $250,000 prize. Check out the amazing before and after picture of Ward below.
The other two contestants in the finale also did remarkably well, with Curlee losing 120 pounds and Alvarado losing 116 pounds.
"I feel fantastic," Ward told Today show host Matt Lauer. "I think if I could literally bottle this feeling and put it in my back pocket, I would be fine for life."
Losing the weight has not only given her a chance for a healthier and happier life, but will also help her start a family -- something she has not been able to do because of a condition called polycystic ovarian syndrome.
"I'm happy to say that (Biggest Loser's) Dr. Huizenga gave me a really good clean bill of health," she said. "With this new body and all of my systems back in order, my husband and I will hopefully be able to have children."
Her husband, Ben, also lost an amazing 113 pounds on his own while she was atThe Biggest Loserranch!
How did Ward lose the weight? "I realized that weight loss happens in the mind and inside first. And if you're faithful, then with the exercise and then diet -- that part is science -- the body will follow. For me (before), I just thought I had to grind my body into the ground with exercise and diet without really thinking about what was going on on the inside."
The at-home winner of season 11's Biggest Loser was Deni, a 59-year-old mom of eight, who lost 125 pounds at home and won the $100,000 prize.
Congratulations, Olivia Ward!
