Robin Quivers hints she's leaving Howard Stern
Is Robin Quivers tired of being Howard Stern’s sidekick? She and Stern have worked together for 30 years (longer than most marriages!), however, she has hinted that she is ready to branch out and do something on her own. Will her absence throw off the chemistry on Howard Stern’s Sirius satellite show?
Robin Quivers is the perfect yin to Howard Stern's yang. She is the voice of reason when he goes off on a tangent -- and their interview skills together are hard to beat! Honestly, who else can ask the questions they ask of celebrities and get away with it?
After 30 years of being Stern's sidekick, however, the 58-year-old Quivers says in an interview she is ready to spread her wings.
"I love to do radio and television and I've always wanted my own television show, so I've been putting out feelers for those kinds of things," she says. "[I could] express myself in ways that I don't necessarily get to express myself on our show."
There have been rumors of Quivers leaving the show in the past but this time it sounds like she is really ready to search out new opportunities. In fact, when asked if she would like to fill in the TV void left by Oprah's absence, she said, "Let's hope. It will be like a talk show, but with subjects that I'd be interested in. I think I have some interesting things to say and I don't think anybody out there is saying them."
If Quivers does leave, who could fill in her spot? It would have to be someone that has good chemistry with Stern, yet could also hold their own. I'm thinking someone like Sarah Silverman. Thoughts?
What does Howard Stern think about Quivers leaving? No word yet, although I'm sure they will address it when they return live on Sirius XM on Monday, May 9.
