Just a day after giving birth to twins on her wedding anniversary, Mariah Carey renewed her wedding vows with Nick Cannon while still in the hospital.

Mariah Carey Nick CannonMariah Carey gave birth to twins on Saturday, but that didn't stop her from following through on a romantic anniversary plan: She and husband of three years Nick Cannon renewed their wedding vows right there in the hospital.

Al Sharpton, who performed the ceremony at Mariah's bedside, said Mariah and Nick are an inspiration.

"Mariah looks great, and the babies are beautiful," Sharpton told Us Magazine. "I am so moved by the sincere spiritual commitment of Mariah and Nick. They have not let success separate them from God. I am so proud."

Sharpton was in the hospital anyway: The couple had asked him to pray over the babies for their first 24 hours of life, and asked him to lead their annual vow renewal ceremony right then and there.

Sharpton told RadarOnline:

"I was very moved by Mariah and Nick's commitment to want their babies prayed over in their first 24 hours of their life and continue their annual tradition of renewing their marriage vows," Sharpton said.

"In a time where so many entertainment figures become captives of their success, their commitment to their spiritual life and wanting their beautiful twins born in that atmosphere is exemplary and worthy of admiration. I will say that Mariah looks amazingly radiant and beautiful a day after delivering twins and the babies are simply a gift from God. I am very proud of Nick and Mariah."
