Simon Cowell is still making final decisions on his X Factor judges’ panel, but one very special judges’ chair could still go to someone close to his heart — Paula Abdul. The negotiations haven’t been finalized, but reports say Simon Cowell is staying firm on a Paula Abdul reunion on the X Factor.
Simon Cowell recently told Deadline, “I missed her the second she left [Idol]. Always loved working with her even though she can be a pain. I don’t know what it is about her, but I’ve always clicked with her. You just have to get that chemistry, and she’s right. I’ve never found anyone better than her.”
We knew he missed Paula Abdul the minute she exited her American Idol judges’ chair, but we never knew just how much.
Once the deal is sealed, Paula Abdul would would sit along side confirmed X Factor judge Antonio “LA” Reid and of course Simon Cowell.
It was also recently confirmed that British songstress and judge of the British X Factor, Cheryl Cole, would sit on the panel.
“She’s a great judge. She’s smart,” Cowell said of Cole. “It’s just a hunch. If people take to her like the British public did, I think she’s going to do really well in America. And Fox was desperate to hire her.”
Cole and Abdul’s negotiations are still reportedly being worked out and Fox has not confirmed Abdul’s official seat on the panel. Stay tuned.
The X Factor debuts in America this fall, with a pretty hefty prize up for grabs — $5 million dollars!
