Nicolas Cage arrested for domestic abuse
Nicolas Cage was arrested in New Orleans early this morning on suspicion of domestic abuse.
Is Nicolas Cage on a downward spiral?
Cage was arrested early this morning after a cabbie witnessed the actor push his wife, Alice, during a heated fight. According TMZ, police attempted to diffuse the situation upon arrival, but a seemingly drunk Cage proceeded to taunt them. "Why don't you arrest me?" he repeated.
The police eventually obliged and Nicolas Cage was apprehended and charged with domestic abuse and disturbing the peace. His wife reportedly does not wish to press charges.
Cage is still behind bars and currently awaiting bail.
Can't be caged?
This isn't the first drunken scuffle for the Sorcerer's Apprentice actor. Cage had to be escorted back to his New Orleans hotel in early May for allegedly breaking a restaurant window. Although the restaurant did not press charges, police had to forcefully assist an inebriated Cage out of the restaurant and back to his lodging.
In December 2010, Cage was caught on tape speaking incoherently outside a Romanian nightclub. See the video below.
We hope the troubled star gets the help he needs.
