George Clooney going to court for prostitution case
George Clooney is being called to court to testify about a prostitute. Is the actor getting a little on the side?
George Clooney is dating the gorgeous Elisabetta Canalis -- so why is he involved in a prostitution case? Relax: It's not a case against one of the sexiest men alive, but about Italian Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi.
Berlusconi is charged with paying a 17-year-old Moroccan girl for sex and then covering it up afterward. The girl -- identified as Ruby -- said she saw Clooney and Canalis at one of Berlusconi's parties.
Here's the thing: Clooney says he's never been to one of Berlusconi's parties. In fact, he has no idea why he's being asked to testify.
"It seems odd since I've only met Berlusconi once, and that was in an attempt to get aid into Darfur," Clooney told the Associated Press Tuesday.
It sounds like Italian prosecutors want the extra attention an A-list celeb can bring to the trial. After all, Clooney is one of Italy's most famous residents -- not that Clooney is an angel himself, though. He told Newsweek in a recent interview that he could never run for political office because of his extravagant past.
"I didn't live my life in the right way for politics," Clooney said. "I [had sex with] too many chicks and did too many drugs, and that's the truth."
We don't think that would disqualify you, George. Sleeping with a bevy of women seems to be par for the course in politics.
